As a third-generation blue-collar worker, Nathan has a deep understanding of what it takes to get the job done right. Nathan tends to his ten-acre farm in Westcliffe, Colorado when he’s not meticulously restoring log cabins. As a dedicated husband and father of three, he finds solace among his animals and the land he nurtures. He spends a lot of time with his children, teaching him important family values and teaches them skills that will help them be self-reliant in the years to come.

In addition to his exceptional carpentry skills, he possesses a natural talent for different artistic expressions, which allows him to bring a unique perspective to his work. He has a strong passion for music and has composed for multiple record labels. Nathan has also performed live and has even DJ ‘ed across several states in the US. He was introduced to the world of cabin restoration by Nick Smith, one of the company’s founders. Since then, Nathan has worked closely with Nick to create visually stunning and highly detailed log home repairs. As the Project Manager of Log Masters Restorations in Colorado, he maintains the brand’s high standards, which is a testament to his unique skill set and unwavering commitment. Nathan is a versatile, proactive individual who is always ready to face any challenge.

Nathan’s academic journey took him to Portland Community College, where he sharpened his multimedia skills. He focused on arts, graphic design, and audio-video production. During his time there, Nathan developed a keen eye for detail and a deep appreciation for fine craftsmanship. He is an accomplished individual who has spent six years honing his craft as a skilled blacksmith and bladesmith, in addition to his other achievements. Nathan’s passion for crafting unique knives, axes, and spearheads that blend artistry with functionality is evident in his work.

Nathan’s diverse work history includes decorative concrete, roofing, digital document management, and industrial printing for wine and spirits. His expertise spans both computer-driven machinery and traditional hand tools, positioning him at the intersection of technology and craftsmanship.

Colt is a loving and dedicated family man who values spending quality time with his spouse and six children. His commitment to his family is unwavering, and he truly treasures every moment they share. During his free time, he enjoys taking his family outdoors. He takes them camping, fishing, hunting, floating, range shooting, and riding four-wheelers and dirt bikes.

With a passion for the outdoors and a deep-seated commitment to family, he brings a unique perspective to Log Masters Restorations, blending professionalism with genuine care and empathy. He dedicates himself to exceeding expectations and delivering exceptional results that stand the test of time.

Colt’s Background

Colt grew up in Phoenix, Arizona, before moving to Missouri. As a child, he loved climbing desert mountains, looking for rattlesnakes to turn into snake skins. His childhood love for the world of superheroes, comics, Star Wars, and video games is still a passion he enjoys.

In the seasonal downtime, Colt seeks to expand his knowledge further by diving deep into custom cabinet design and building. This additional skill set has proven invaluable in providing comprehensive solutions to homeowners who aspire to restore and enhance their log homes.

Log Home Industry Beginnings

In 2013, Colt started working as a subcontractor with Nick and Scott before they created Log Masters. The photo to the left depicts the youth of these hard working guys.

During his early years, he focused on log home repair and received training in various restoration techniques, such as chemical stripping, sandblasting, staining, chinking, and log rot repair.

Colt dedicated himself to honing his skills in each area. This ensured that every project he completed met the highest quality standards. To learn more about the humble beginning of Log Masters, click here.

It was a happy accident that I ended up in this industry. Once I learned how few people could actually work on log homes, I became way more interested. It’s a rare skill set is what makes it worth it to me.

Colt has worked in the log home industry for nearly 10+ years. He worked for several companies, including ours, before being hired as Log Masters Restorations Missouri Project Manager. With his experience in log home repair and carpentry, he brings a unique blend of expertise and dedication to the role of a project manager.

With over a decade of experience, he is well-equipped to take on the role of project manager and guide homeowners through the restoration process. Colt ensures that every step of the restoration process is held to the highest quality possible.
